I've been hard at work writing my first book of beautiful, easy handmade projects for your home, and it will finally be published in Spring of 2014. Wise Craft: Turning Thrift Store Finds, Fabric Scraps, and Bits of Nature Into Stuff You Love encapsulates all the things I love about handmade... repurposing and giving a new life to cast-offs...approachable projects that anyone can do to make their home special...telling your family's story with handmade objects sprinkled throughout the place you call home. I'm so happy to be able to share my passion for handmaking in book form!
What I love and cherish most in every room of our home are the handmade pieces-the ones that have a story-or secondhand pieces that have had previous life but now have a new one with us. The wise craft way of making is all about making your house a beautiful respite, about creating handmade, personalized gifts for friends and family. Sprucing up tired corners. Adding personal touches that reflect who you are and what you love. Whether you have the keys to your very first apartment, feel like making something but aren't sure where to start, feeling like your home needs a jolt of your creative side, or if you want to make a unique gift for someone, there is something for you. The pages are filled to the brim with beautiful, inspiring photography, lush color stories, and doable projects. Using all kinds of mediums (because that's how I create), explained with clear instructions.
