It was a glorious weekend here in Seattle! The locals have been so starved for sunshine and milder days, it felt almost a requirement that we spend as much time as possible (go outside kids, get some Vitamin D!). I actually got a little crazy and changed out our bed's flannel sheets with the crisp white cotton ones that have been stored all winter. (Although our blanket is still on the bed, nights will still be cool for a while). I changed out the bed quilt (from this to this), and decided to make some cotton ticking stripe cases for the pillows we use to prop up for reading.
I decided to give Katie's invisible zipper tutorial a try and I don't think I will ever go back to making envelope closures on back of pillows. This is so easy, and so much easier to sew in than a basic zipper (which I've stumbled through for years).
The whole house is getting new pillows.

I am still replying to the thoughtful comments left on my post from last week (I reply in the comment section, but I don't know if the commenter gets notified, so go back to that post if you'd like to see my replies and continue the converstaion). I thought about you all over the weekend... and I spent a lot less time on the computer and more time getting things done. It felt good to strive for balance.
