I'm still languishing in my busy week, but wanted to pop to say hi and spread the word about a couple of things-
Mark your calendars. My girl Lisa (you know Lisa, right?) will unveil new work at Assemble Gallery on March 11, opening party is from 6-9. I'm so excited! She describes her inspiration for the show this way-
"The show, entitled Boreas, for the god of the north wind, is a celebration of my fascination with the landscape and lore of some of the coldest and most barren places on earth."
Lisa's work is perfect to ring in a little Spring around Seattle. She is a treat to meet in person (and, next to Peter, she has the best tattoos!).
From Kathreen and Whip Up comes a new downloadable mini-magazine for kids and parents, just in time for these last itchy twitchy weeks of winter (or summer, depending on where you are). Action Pack Issue 1 is all about projects and crafts involving paper and beeswax, and the activities are divided into 6 sections: Craft, Science, Cooking, Facts, Art, and Printables, all with very doable projects of all types. It would be really fun to loop all the activities and to-do's in the book into a fun little lesson about bees, beeswax, honey, etc (hello!? honeycake!). I love books like this for simple reasons...the supplies are easy to pull together, and it gets the kids and I working on something fun together. Time well spent.
*I am giving away 2 copies of this Action Pack Mini-Mag to my readers, just leave a comment on this post and I'll randomly draw 2 names on Friday, just in time to get started on some fun for the weekend!
Update- Winners have been chosen and notified, thank you to all who entered!
