I woke up Sunday morning realizing that this next week ahead of us is packed to the gills. The lists are long, time is short, and transitions are tricky, so I am trying to start the week as organized as possible. Reading your thoughts from that last post on quilting really got me in the mood to start (or better, finish) a couple of quilts I've been working on and thinking about, buuuuut unfortunately those types of projects will have to wait until the end of these next few crazy days. Why is it we're most motivated to start a new project when there's really no time I ask?? My pinterest board of things I'd like to make runneth over...
In the meantime, I have been wanting to share my new way of storing my yarn. One of the trickiest parts of having/keeping/using my yarn stash is that I find myself pulling out every skein and ball just to find a particular color I'm looking for. Not to mention that it was an Anthropolgie shopping bag that I was pulling them out of. Pretty enough bag, true, but not really something I'm interested in leaving out in my family room. I stole this idea from February issue of Living Etc and so far its working out beautifully. I found the large glass vase at, you guessed it, IKEA. (And there's a larger size too, so yarn hoarders take note!). The vase is exactly the shape I wanted, slightly wider at the top, but a clean shape. It's great because I can see every color in my stash, grab it, and use it without scattering balls of yarn all over the coffee table (which I will be the first to admit I don't always pick up right away).
Plus I don't mind looking at it.
And I will be looking at it longingly this week.
