I'm beginning to think my stash yarn may actually become a blanket someday. I started this back to basics knitting project a while ago you might recall, and in the months since, I've been sporadically picking up the needles and knitting a square when Peter and I are watching movies in the evenings. In my mind I've named it the "hands busy" blanket because its been a great deterrent to night snacking, a big pitfall for my diet. Plus these are just garter stitches (knit every stitch, every row), so there's no counting, no looking actually, once I get my rhythm, I can just go go go.
I got a little discouraged yesterday when I started figuring up exactly how many of these squares I will actually need to make a decent sized blanket. Around 72-ish squares. Um....yeah....that feels like a lot.
But then I went through my stash of felted sweaters and found a few pieces (plus a couple found since this photo) that I can cut into squares and add to the blanket. Might be kind of cool to mix the textured squares, and I'll be using up more of my stash of craft supplies, which never seems to end.
Now I'm excited again!
