Emma is not allowed to wear any sort of makeup beyond colorless lip gloss (lip balm, actually, but "gloss" makes it sound so much more...more, when you're 11, right). I do allow nail polish as well (I happen to think polish is fun, and its something we do together).
But even when you're only allowed those few bits of girly things, one can manage to accumulate quite a bit of gear. The lip balm gloss industry is very creative...tiny dried flowers floating inside, a variety of slightly tinted colors within a sparkly "cell" phone case immediately come to mind. And the infinite shades of nail polish mean that we will never run out of zany color and glitter options at the store.
Add to all this foamy soap that smell like blueberries or strawberries, and various other things she's found around the house (like my old nail buffer- from when I actually buffed my nails- I know, shocking!). All of this is housed in a hand-me-down Reed and Barton silver chest, given to us by our neighbor (minus the silver, of course).
Which leads me to my current love of this fabric, it feels so perfect for a girl like Emma-
Michael Miller "Always Peace" in Coral. I'm crazy for it. I saw it at Fabric Crush a few weeks ago and am still loving the little swatch I have on my inspiration board.
But what to make? I'm stumped.

- Kaffe Fassett has a beautiful quilt available as a PDF from his new book Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts (see a video here).
- The finale of Lost last night had me sobbing like a baby. Sad to see that show go. Just when I finally got the story.
- Love the sneak peek of Jen Mankins' home (I love seeing things like quilts around a home).
- Cottage Style at Please Sir.
- Ian is listening to this song on heavy rotation, Emma is listening to this one.
