Sorry to have been so absent here in this space this week. It was a bit of a whirlwind this week around here. Friends in from out of town, our beloved Komforte Chockolates got some really good press this week, which resulted in lots of mailings of media kits (please cross your fingers and toes). Ian and Emma were both involved with a musical at school, 3 performances. Several flowers and scoops of celebratory ice cream later, and I think we are finally able to sit down somewhere other than in the car.
In the midst of all of this, I took a few minutes to brainstorm some new quilt ideas. Still wanting to make one for our king-sized bed, but haven't quite settled on an idea yet. I'm really wanting to explore this crossbar effect. I'm playing around with the spare feel like my scribbles above, or just completely filling up the quilt with crossbars, playing with subtle color shifts.
I went to the fabric store the other day with this design in mind, and surprised myself by completely turning away from the colorful, large prints that are everywhere right now. Instead, I kept drifting over to the tiny reproduction prints. I think it would be fun to play with these as crossbars. Hoping to get some time to play over the long weekend.
This quilt is stunning to me in its simplicity. As is this one.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Any sewing planned??
