I fell in love with this New Hampshire A frame house in the October/November issue of ReadyMade. I really love seeing small spaces utilized well. And I love the alpine, woodland feel of the wood trim. And that blue door! I don't often dream about houses I see in magazines, but I had a dream about this one. The next day I did some purging around here, and tried to do a little rearranging for Fall.
One week of work is behind me. The job is really good so far. One reason its good is I like the structure. I think I probably needed to be nudged into having a bit more of that in my day (I tend to piddle around a lot more than I'd like), and its doing us all good. Another reason it is good is because I'm coming at it from such a different place than when I was in the apparel industry before. The deadlines are the same (very tight), the second guessing of what should be in the line and what should be out is also very much the same (it happens at the 9th hour). But my reaction to all this feels so much more realistic and balanced. I come at problems much more calmly than when I was younger. Its been a very nice surprise. The funny part is that the kids have asked nothing about the job. They still get dropped off and picked up by me every day, its almost like they forgot. They are very unaffected so far. Although they have not forgotten that I pass the Lego store each day going to and from the office. Hmmmm....

These are nice. I made some of my nephews before I had kids. Funny, now too busy to make them of my own kids. Plus, these look way nicer than what I made!
