Erin and I are thrilled you guys are so into the swap. There have been quite a few sign ups (okay, a whole lot of sign ups!) which is great, because we will most likely be able to group the kids by age, which will be great (can't promise though). Remember you can sign up all week, we won't close them until Friday.
Okay, it is officially the week of my life where all my unfinished projects are starting to bother me. Really, truly bug me. Have you ever noticed that there's just no good place to put an unfinished project? Folding it up and placing it neatly on one corner of my desk only serves to remind me daily that, I may think I've finished what's on my desk, but ummm no, not really, not done. Folding it up and putting it on a shelf is a true crafting death certificate in my house. My grandkids will one day find it and wonder what I actually meant to do with it. So, enough with the rotating piles of all things unfinished. Here's the list of what's bothering me most-
*my Alabama Chanin skirt (theoretically this should be an easy finish, I want to wear it this Spring, finally...)
*Emma's quilt (I'm again pondering hand quilting it and wondering why I do this to myself. Oh, its when I see gorgeous versions like this I remember how pretty that hand quilting is.)
*THE beanbag chair- I am envisioning its awesomeness several times a day this week, its actually getting there. *Sugar City's Journal "Twelve Dancing Princesses"- I want to get it this to the handstitching stage. Its almost there. This will be some fun work to do while we continue to watch Arrested Development.
*at least ONE complete pair of socks. just one... one pair... I just want to knit one pair...
I am planning the 4th grade Valentine's Day class party. If you guys have had success with any craft done in a classroom, with similar aged kids, would you let me know? We are looking at some Valentine's Mad-libs, some scoop and take with cookie mix, punch and cupcakes (of course), a craft or two. We've got a list of ideas, but I'm always into discovering something new. Thanks in advance!
Off to pour a cup of coffee and look at signing Emma up for a sleep away camp this summer. She's ready, this is the year.
