With school and all that goes with that starting up this week, I have spent a couple of days attempting to get organized. Then on Saturday, I made this Alabama Chanin-inspired cover for my calendar. My thinking was that now I've recorded all the important dates I need to remember for the next 18 months in it and I need to show this little book just how special it really is to me.
I used the same light blue jersey you've seen before (and will no doubt see again, I have a lot of it), with an old heather gray Gap T cut up and used for the under layer. I wanted to experiment with some symmetrical, less organic shapes using this process and I'm really liking the way this turned out. The calendar itself is plain as plain can be, so I love that it now feels special, and this soft jersey is nice to hold in my hand. I'm hoping that all this calendar love will entice me to remember to look at it. The inside of my fall purse is black (its like a big black hole in there), so this will be easy to see.
Proud to say I also utilized ical on my computer and plugged it with birthdays, anniversarys, dental and medical checkups, when to go see the tax man, all sorts of things I need to remember, I am determined to get better at all this (I've never used ICal, but I'm on the computer constantly so why not?) I'll get a message that pops up either on the day of or whenever I ask it to. I feel like that's one more thing I can dump out of my brain to hopefully make room for something else. My next job to tackle is meal planning. Its vital, we need to be much more efficient in this area.
I am working on new Fall items for my shop. I'm foraging and gathering bits of Fall for new charm bracelets, which is my favorite part.

my newly finished July eight by eight piece is my favorite yet...yes, July. We are behind from summer and catching up slowly.
Here's to a 3 day weekend.
