*Thank you for your sweet comments on the last post. I put that letter (and the cookie, even though I wasn't supposed to) in her bag. Emma's been away for a night here and there for a sleepover, but this camping trip, 3 days and 2 nights, is meant to help the children in her class gain independence and confidence, as well as have fun together. Emma is definitely ready for the challenge. I am too, but at the same time I miss her, and feel how much she's growing. She's home tomorrow evening, till then, I remind myself how humbling it is to realize that this happy, sweet (still little) soul who leaves such a void in our home when she's not here, was in part created by me.
*Ian and I were here at home last night, just the two of us, very rare. After having a little bit of a scare yesterday, he needed some reassurance, from me and home. This kid is always so vocal about his feelings, so to see him trying as hard as he can not to cry while waiting for me to get to him, so he can finally let go, just breaks my heart into little pieces. We ate his favorite dinner and he took a super long bubble bath with way too many bubbles (at his request). It ended with him sitting in my bed, reading, until it was time to crawl into his own bed, with his 'warm', and rest. It was a great night.
*I cleaned and polished all my winter shoes and boots while Ian was in the bath. I try to do this little season opener activity every Fall. In fact I do lots of prep for Fall. The house will soon get a complete cleaning, comforters will get fluffed and recovered in their warm clothes, and bathing suits will be folded and put away. I'll pull out warm quilts so they are within grabbing distance while we watch this upcoming election unfold.
*Let the presidential debates happen on Friday as they are scheduled. This blog will never be about politics and I prefer to keep my feelings on that to myself and my immediate family, but a debate, to me, offers hope and information. I don't have huge amounts of faith that resolutions to our country's financial crisis will happen faster just because we reschedule Friday. There, that's all I'll say.
*I'm back in a weekly bootcamp class and supplementing with small runs a couple mornings each week. I realize I like feeling my muscles at work, even though I absolutely hate exercise. The irony is that while I'm in the park having bootcamp, Emma is having Phys. Ed. class in the same park. The idea that this is a h u g e positive example for her keeps me motivated.
*New charm bracelets will be added to the shop next week, I'll have more details soon. I've made a new and completely different set of them for Fall and can't wait to show you! Plus these will get a small extra surprise with them. But, I'll give these a post all their own.
*I'm focusing on eight by eight over the next day or so, in addition to work work. And that's plenty to keep me busy.
Now for a little Van Morrison "Domino" to start me off! Hello morning!
Be well till I meet you here again.
