hello

Dsc_9873

Dear Blog,

How have you been? I checked on you today for the first time in a while and you seemed dusty and stale, so I wanted to make you pretty again. I hope you like your new look.

Hello friends,

How are you? I have missed talking to you. Being away from the blog has been good, but I would not say it pulled me away from the computer as much as I would have hoped (but I'll leave that to another post). It helped me gain perspective. I thought of this today, as I witnessed the frenetic energy that is our household on summer break. Little people, running up to me in the kitchen, asking for a cup of shredded cheese just before dinner, adding "don't worry, I'm not going to eat it , I'm just going to play with it". Kid's taping things...L O T S of tape we are using here.  Such fascination in the possibility of adhesive scotch.

We are here...working...and the kids...are here...playing...  I loved Anna Maria's analogy of kids home for the summer being a little like syrup.  Sweet but a little sticky.

Oh yes!

I exchanged emails with Betz the other day about finding things for the kids to do (I think I might make her favorite childhood super foam-erator with my kids this week) and I was reminded to add the summer activities link back to my sidebar, for anyone needed a little help with kid fun.  There are also some incredible online resources for good kid ideas like The Crafty Crow, bookhou craft projects, art projects for kids...  We've managed to come up with some innovative (and sometimes weird) things to do around here, which I will share with you soon.

Well, I miss you guys, I really do.  I've got things to show and tell.

summer hugs to all,

Blair
