I'm kind of obsessed with making these Heidi Headbands from Amy's book. I looked at the clock today and realized I can make one every 15 minutes. This is newsworthy for a big reason other than the fact that they are so freakin' cute and fast. Emma's hair has gotten long, like hang in the face long. Refusing to wear any type of hair hardware to keep those locks out of her eyes has been an ongoing battle between us...till now. The H.H. has done the trick (as long as she picks the ribbon). You see, they are comfortable and stay in. The pattern calls for linen, but really anything works well (I believe that would be the bending the rules part, the one on the right is some twill tape I had in army green (Emma's favorite one, who knew? army green?) Amy, you are a genius. You have managed to have a book published, give birth, and settle some tense hair issues that were happening 3 hours north of you, all in the same week.
I am also the proud owner of one of Lisa Leonard's beautiful stamped silver necklaces. I don't think I've taken it off since I got it. As I am kind of obsessed with initials, monograms, and ID in general, I asked Lisa if she could stamp my initials on it (identity crisis, perhaps, but I like to think its more just a product of the gentile Southeastern US I grew up in...monograms on everything). She normally stamps some very inspiring things on them, but was happy to do the variation I requested. Thank you Lisa. I love the pearl hanging in the center of mine. Check out her assortment of beautiful things here.
On a whim today, I had all my hair cut off. I'd been thinking I'd do it later in the summer, but for some reason, today felt like the day and I called all over town until I got an appointment at a decent salon. I feel so much better, so much lighter. I swear I have twice as much hair and I've lost 10 lbs. Its that good. I'll show you a picture soon. But in the meantime, please hop over to Holly's Decor8 blog and help me spruce up our patio space for the summer, I need some of your good suggestions.
