These are piles of the nicest kinds, so I thought I'd share. (Lisa, I am running from sharing the ugly piles just yet, trust that there are many piles around here that are a little hard on the eyes.) This is a pile of Nature's Palette fabric sent by Kristin of Sew, Mama, Sew, and Go, Goose, Go. What's great about them is that they are environmentally friendly fabrics are made of organically grown
cotton and dyed with natural, non-toxic dyes. Speaking from the
perspective of someone who in the past regularly worked with fabric mills, claims like this are not
easy to make. It takes a huge commitment from the manufacturers, so
I'm thrilled to learn that there are fabrics like this being produced out there. The colors are
muted and beautiful, the fabric hand is incredibly soft. I don't yet know my plans for them, although
they do look lovely together.
I may just give in and make a quilt like this, because it would keep all the fabrics together in one big happy organic family. Thank you so much Kristin!
And, a pile o' dishes from Lisa! Apparently, she sensed my need for more, found 8 cups and two plates while thrift shopping and sent them to add to my collection. I was so excited to get this box! I only had one cup, so now I'm set for a tea party. Lisa, you can be my personal shopper any day! Thank you dearie!
Maybe another week I'll share those messier piles.
I am admitting defeat on the crafting front. I really can't get much done during these last summer vacation days with my kids. The sooner I admit that and just go with the flow, the happier I'll be. When crafting comes in fits and starts, in the midst of kids who are tired of playing nice together, nobody gets anything done. Although I still have plans to post, better for me to slow down and just "BE", so you may be seeing more of that.
