I should just not even bother to go to the craft room while the kids are at school (which, for the record, is a little over 2 hours 3x week of completely kid-free-not-a-sound-in-the-house time). Apparently today was one of those days, when the ideas I had in my head could somehow not translate themselves to my hands. Ideas imploding inside my head as I drive home... I could start on this, but I've been wanting to do this... I came home and sewed this sad bunny. Please be kind-
She's here, but feeling a little challenged in the craftsmanship department, but the original idea came from one in this book. I knew I wasn't going to like her shortly after the pieces were cut, but I forged ahead, rationalizing a poorly made stuffy is better than a half finished stuffy (flat ones are so sad). But I'm not feeling too bad, an optimism probably brought on by the sunshine I see out my window. Better next time.
I loaded up on solid fabrics this weekend, prompted by some pillows in the same book. Can't decide what these will turn into, but I love the way they look together, all stacked up.
I do envy the way kids just creatively pull it together on the spot. This weekend, I pulled out big sheets of paper and paint and just let them go at it.
So fun to watch them, hear them discuss big plans for that blank paper while swirling their fingers in the paint.
I am now going to use the remaining kid free moments to grab a coffee and read.
